Businesses and individuals can utilise a variety of amazing tools and platforms to create their own designs. Canva is one of the most well-known design tools available.
But, if you’re anything like me, you already know that Canva has a tonne of cool features like free photographs, suggested graphics, transformable objects, and, let’s be honest, it’s just plain easy to use, which we love! Especially if we are just starting out as a designer or a business owner. With all of Canva’s great design options, it’s difficult to imagine how it could get much better. But wait, there’s more: I’m about to expose four secrets that you didn’t know Canva could perform.
You’re undoubtedly thinking to yourself, “How much better can it get?” and “What do you mean by secrets!” You’ll see what I mean. Okay, enough chit-chat, let’s get back to Canva.
You Have The Option To Upload An SVG File
Okay, an SVG file, also known as a Scalable Vector Graphics file, is a structured internet file that you may email to other designers or upload and edit online. When you submit an SVG to the internet, you can usually change the colour, size, and add animation to it. When submitting a file to Canva, you can adjust the colours and crop the image while still preserving high-quality results.
This is wonderful because you don’t have to keep changing the colour and uploading them as jpg or png over and over in Canva.
A One-Page Website Is Viable
Yes, Canva allows you to make a one-page website. I like to use this one-page website as a wireframe for my clients to see what their website may look like if it has a parallax feature. It brings the website wireframe to life and allows me to show my clients a more accurate representation of their future website.
Canva Designs Can Be Embeded On Your Website And Blog
This tool isreally a unique one from Canva. Canva is one of my favourites since it allows you to create a step-by-step procedure, show several videos, or showcase your design examples on your blog or website. Canva is a great tool for this, and it’s an easy plugin to use. Simply copy the Canva plugin and paste it on your website or blog.
On Social Media, You Can Schedule And Publish Content
If I said I didn’t do a dance when I heard out about this tip by Canva, I’d be lying. I would download my files, schedule them elsewhere, or post them myself all of this time. We had the answer right in front of us, and Canva was being impolite by not informing us of this feature. If you’ve Canva‘s Pro Plan then you’ll be delightned too! Like I’m delighted I bought the premium version because I’m going to use this a lot.
Canva Provides The Prints Too!
Canva not only offers a great platform for generating numerous branding ideas, but they also offer a fantastic delivery service. Get your high-quality prints sent right to your door, and they’ll look just as nice as they do on screen, if not better! Designs can be printed and delivered in four days, with a tracking service and 24/7 support to keep you updated on the status of your prints throughout the process.
Change The Colours To Match Your Brand
Canva can also help you with your company’s branding. Because colours are so significant in communicating your brand to your customers, it’s crucial to choose the perfect one to convey the message you want to send. If this is something you’re not sure about, Canva offers a series of blogs to go along with their digital tools to assist you. If you’re having trouble defining your values, you can use our Branding Canvas tool. To assist with your branding, Canva provides ready-made templates with specific colours that align with your messaging. They also feature a colour palette tool, which allows you to do more experimenting to discover the right colour for your brand.
You Have The Option To Use Stock Photos
Canva, as previously mentioned, offers millions of stock photos that you can use for free to improve your branding (you might need to upgrade to a premium account to get the full use of this feature). Simply go to the left-hand sidebar and click on ‘Photos,’ then search for the image you want. You can also use the upload tab near the bottom of the left-hand bar to upload your own photographs.
Resize Your Design To Different Dimensions Automatically
Canva’s auto resize feature is another fantastic feature. Other design tools can be inconvenient when working on designs in a specific dimension that may need to be changed later. This implies you may have to redo the job to get it to the proper size. With Canva, this isn’t the case. When you’re working on a design that has to be resized to different dimensions, simply click the ‘Resize’ button in the light blue bar at the top of the screen, select the dimensions you require, and let it handle the rest. It’s worth mentioning that this is a Canva Pro feature. Canva is a fantastic tool to utilise in conjunction with your content creation.
Some Extra Canva Tips:
- Choose two high-contrast fonts.
- Color palette should be limited to four colours.
- Resize your creations to fit any social media platform.
The free Canva membership provides a number of useful features to get you started. You’ll want to upgrade to their Pro Plan if you want to get even more out of the programme, such advanced photo selections and templates, as well as the opportunity to download your creations with a transparent background.
Canva is a game-changer for business owners who want to create high-quality, attractive, bespoke content but don’t have a graphic design degree or don’t want to spend time learning sophisticated design programmes.
